FAQs
☆ how do I care for my ceramics?
Hand washing your ceramics is recommended to keep the colors and glaze vibrant!
Please avoid extreme temperature changes (from hot to cold, cold to hot) as this can cause cracking.
If your item includes hand-sculpted features that protrude (such as ears, snout / nose, arms, tail), please note that these areas are fragile. Please use caution and handle gently.
☆ are your ceramics food-safe?
My ceramics are food-safe, unless otherwise stated!
☆ how long does a piece take to create?
Each piece is carefully handmade from start to finish! My ceramic pieces go through several stages to reach completion.
Every item is wheel-thrown, carefully dried, trimmed, hand-sculpted, painted, bisque fired, glazed, and fired again. This process can take up to 4 months.
Since I work in a community ceramic studio, the timing may vary depending on the studio's kiln availability and firing schedules.
☆ do you do commissions?
Commissions are currently closed and will open back in 2026!
☆ how do pre-orders work?
Pre-orders allow you to reserve an item before it’s finished and ready to ship. All pre-ordered items are made to order, which means I will start your piece once your order is placed.
Pre-orders typically take 4 months to be fulfilled. Each ceramic piece is handcrafted with care and goes through multiple stages to reach completion. Every item is wheel-thrown, carefully dried to prevent cracks and breakage, trimmed, hand-sculpted, painted, and glazed.
If there are any issues that impact the order timeline, please note that your order may be delayed. I will be sure to communicate any changes and updates along the way.
☆ do you accept returns, exchanges, or refunds?
Due to the unique, handmade nature of each piece, I'm unable to accept returns, exchanges, or refunds. Each item is crafted with care and is one-of-a-kind, so slight variations are part of the charm.
HOWEVER, if your order arrived damaged, please reach out within 3 days with photos, and I will work with you to discuss a solution.
☆ my piece arrived broken / damaged! what do I do?
I am so sorry to hear that! I take great care in packaging each ceramic order to ensure it arrives safely, but unfortunately, once it leaves my hands and is dropped off with the postal carrier, accidents can still happen.
If your piece arrived broken or damaged, please email me at kuurimii@gmail.com with photos within 3 days of delivery so we can discuss a solution.
Depending on inventory and availability, please keep in mind that the replacement will require extra time to recreate and not all ceramic pieces are exactly the same, as each piece is handmade with care.
☆ my package was lost... now what?
I am not responsible for lost packages. I do my best to ensure sure your order reaches you safely and on time. However, once your package is in the hands of the delivery carrier, delivery is outside of my control.
If your package is marked as delivered but you haven’t received it, I recommend:
- Checking with household members or neighbors in case it was left nearby.
- Looking around your delivery area, including side doors or porches.
- Contacting your local delivery service directly with your tracking number - sometimes a delivery may be held at your post office or delivery center.
Please note:
- I am not responsible for packages that are marked as delivered by the carrier but are subsequently misplaced or stolen.
- I do not provide refunds for orders that show delivery confirmation.
- If your package seems to be lost in transit and delivery has not been confirmed, please reach out within 14 days of the expected delivery date. We’ll do our best to help resolve the situation and may be able to file a claim with the delivery service on your behalf.
